Product Range Update

Please be advised that we have discontinued our Oven Fried Chicken Seasoning Mix.  This product was only available through retailers by special order only or through our on-line shop.

This was one of our oldest products and has not been part of our regular product range for several years.  Like all products in all industries, our “OFC” had run its life cycle and effective immediately is no longer available.

New Retailers: August 2011

The month of August is traditionally a holiday month for people all around Ireland.  With this in mind, our efforts were focused on harvesting and farm projects.  So, there were no new retailers added during the month.

2011 Harvest

Despite the harsh winter we experienced in 2010-11, and with all the frost damage to plants and fencing, we are pleased to report that our harvests for 2011 have been better than expected.  Certainly the unseasonable warm weather we had in late March and right through the month of April has provided great growth this year.  We’re enjoying a second harvest on some of our herbs through the month of August, keeping things busy on the farm.  And that means there will be more of our special home-grown Oregano for making our ever-popular Bolognese Sauce Seasoning Blend!

All around the country this summer, our Bolognese Sauce Seasoning Blend sold out of many retailers.  Aside from using our sachet in making this traditional Italian meal, we discovered that many people are using this sauce in making lasagna (with mince or vegetarian), parmigiana (with veal or aubergine/eggplant), or simply as meatball sauce for making the best meatball sub sandwiches or “Sloppy Joes.”  Why not try our best-selling Bolognese Sauce Seasoning Blend for yourself?  Just follow the easy recipe on the back of the sachet – it’s not as hard as you may think!  We’ve had so many people tell us recently that once they tried this product, they never went back to using a jar sauce or any other sauce again.  With Kylemore Acres, you bring a genuine taste of Italy into your home kitchen!

New Retailers: July 2011

Three retailers were added in our capital city during the month of July.
And way over on the other side of the country in the Kingdom County, we added another retailer – a new shop that offers several ranges of Irish artisan gourmet foods, but is also gearing up to host cooking classes within the premises.  Here are July’s additions for stockists of Kylemore Acres gourmet herb sachets:

Corkage Three Ltd. (rear of Next Door OL), Harold’s Cross, Dublin 6W
FX Buckley Butchers, 61 Moore Street, Dublin 1
FX Buckley Butchers, 62 Moore Street, Dublin 1

Top Dawgs in Dingle

You may already know all about Jerry Kennedy’s unique Blasket Island Lamb that he sells in his shop, Kennedy’s Butchers, in Dingle, Co. Kerry.  And, you may already know that last year, Jerry captured the Gold at the 2010 Blas na hEireann Awards with his lamb sausages made with a special mix from Kylemore Acres.

Still made with our fantastic blend of herbs and spices, Kennedy’s Lamb Sausages have recently been added to the menu of The Garden Cafe in Dingle.  This award-winning restaurant is now offering “The Dingle Dog” which combines 3 local producers/suppliers, making this no ordinary “dog.”  Kennedy’s Butchers, Courtney’s Bakery, and Kingdom Fresh all play a part in this gourmet hotdog.  Our congratulations to The Garden Cafe on the success of “The Dingle Dog.”

So, if you’re in Dingle this summer (or at anytime), get yourself a Dingle Dog with your favourite condiments - for a treat that’s locally-made and genuinely Irish.

Now if we can just figure out a way to get “The Dingle Dog”onto the concession stands at Croke Park in Dublin and Fenway Park in Boston, and Gillette Stadium in Foxborough and Wembley Stadium in London, and…
